The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday that 22 Indian sailors were on board two ships seized by pirates in the Gulf of Aden this week, stressing that all of them are safe. Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal explained that the two incidents involved two ships flying foreign flags, one of which had 16 Indian sailors on board, and the other 6 sailors, noting that New Delhi had contacted the relevant authorities to follow up on the situation.
